Dangers of Circular Music

God loves music and Satan knows the power of music, so music is a constant spiritual battle field. Satan uses music to influence people’s morals, deceive them, and prevent them from following Christ Jesus, Yahusha. He knows the power of music and uses it to inspire idolatry and sin. Remember, before Satan was cast out from heaven with his angels [demons]; he led all heaven worship; He is a musical leader; He is still musical and inspires music.

Music is a powerful spiritual tool which can be used by both the evil kingdom and the heavenly kingdom. Satan is playing his music today and many are bowing down to his worship as many bowed down to Nebuchadnezzar’s golden image.

The Original Purpose for Music According to the Bible are:

  • Worshipping God: “Praise the Lord! Praise God in His sanctuary; Praise Him in His mighty firmament” (Ps 150:1-6).
  • Refreshment: When David played the harp, King Saul found relief from his tormenting spirit (1 Sam 16:23).
  • Warning of Danger: “Wherever you hear the sound of the trumpet, rally to us there. Our God will fight for us” (Neh 4:20).
  • Surprising the Enemy: Gideon used trumpets and jars to confuse the Midianites (Judg 7:16-22).
  • Encouraging Others: “Speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord” (Eph 5:19).

The greatest power music has is to uncover a person to spiritual intimacy with either the Holy Spirit or the evil spirit. Music connects to our soul. When we start singing, we start worshiping either the Satan or God and as we continue, we find ourselves completely taken over spiritually.

When you listen to Gospel music, you start uncovering yourself to the Holy Spirit and the more you listen the more he takes control of you. We became unashamed, unhindered by our weaknesses, our sins are fully uncovered to God and we truly present our real self to God.

If you are listening to Circular or Demonic music, you will sing dance dirty or evil and you will not be ashamed. This leads to evil acts likes sex, crime, hate, jealousy, adultery, fornication, lust, love of money etc. Do not be surprised to see people having sex or sex orgies as they sing and dance or after singing and dancing to demonic music. Through Satanic music, demons are easy to come upon a person and take control of the person.

We see this uncovering of heavenly music in 2 Samuel 6. After bringing in the ark of covenant, David dance to the lord and uncovered himself. 2 Samuel 6:20, Then David returned to bless his household.  And Michal the daughter of Saul came out to meet David, and said, how glorious was the king of Israel to day, who uncovered himself to day in the eyes of the handmaids of his servants, as one of the vain fellows shamelessly uncovering himself!

David was not ashamed but Michal was. Those people ashamed by your sincere praise to God answer them like David did. 2 Samuel 6:21: And David said unto Michal, it was before God, YHWH, which chose me before thy father, and before all his house, to appoint me ruler over the people of the LORD, over Israel: therefore, will I play before the LORD.

In the New Testament, the apostle Paul instructs Christians to encourage one another with music: “Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs” (Ephesians 5:19). So, while the primary purpose of music does seem to be worship, the Bible definitely allows for other uses of music.

Whatever a person allows to occupy his mind will sooner or later determine his speech and his actions. This is the premise behind Philippians 4:8 and Colossians 3:2,5: establishing wholesome thought patterns. Second Corinthians 10:5 says we should “take captive every thought and make it obedient to Christ.” These Scriptures give a clear picture of the kind of music we should not listen to.

Moreover, when King Saul was tormented by evil spirits, he would call on David to play the harp in order to soothe him (1 Samuel 16:14-23). David was playing music praising God. Are you being tormented by Satan and still listening to circular music? That’s why many lives are in shackles of great mess; disappointments, no marriage, divorce, barrenness, poverty, failure, setbacks and backwardness.

Secular music isn’t outright forbidden, but as believers, we must filter what we allow into our hearts, the spirit, and soul. Understanding the Biblical perspective on music will guide us in making choices that honour God and edify our spirit. Is your music drawing you near to the Holy Spirit or grieving Him? Does it feed the flesh or build your spirit? Let us be careful of the music we take in, sing and dance to; Satan has now infiltrated the gospel music scene.
