3 Days Water Only Fasting & Prayers

DAY 1 — Confessions and Prayer for Forgiveness

Identifying and Renouncing Sin

As you begin Day 1 of your fasting and prayer, take intentional time to confess your sins to YHWH one by one. Ask for forgiveness from the depths of your heart and spirit.

In today’s world, distractions often take precedence over our relationship with God. As a result, many lives are caught in cycles of disappointment, lack of marriage, divorce, barrenness, poverty, failure, setbacks, and stagnation.

We often idolize aspects of our lives such as our identity, material wealth, work status, physical appearance, sexual immorality (including pornography and lust), entertainment, technology, comfort, family, influence, and fame.

Furthermore, others struggle with unforgiveness, abortion, addictions, pride, jealousy, hatred, gossip, and dishonesty. We each know the sins that weigh on our hearts. Today is the day to repent sincerely and turn away.

Prayer of Repentance (Psalm 51:9-12)

Almighty God, YHWH, Creator of heaven and earth, please turn Your eyes away from my sins and erase all my evil deeds. I write down my sins one by one before You, making a covenant to repent and distance myself from them all. Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a loyal spirit within me. Do not cast me away from Your presence; do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, and make me willing to obey You. Amen.

May your faith bear fruit worthy of repentance.

DAY 2 — Thanksgiving and Praise to God

Reflecting on Grace, Mercy, and Peace

On Day 2, we focus on gratitude. It is by grace that we have been saved! This is not from our works, behavior, or reputation—it is entirely through Christ Jesus. Grace, mercy, and peace are embodied in Him (2 John 1:3).

Therefore, today let us be thankful for Christ Jesus. Furthermore, as we draw near to Him, He fills us with grace, mercy, and peace. As you reflect, think about what God has done for you over the years. Because of His faithfulness, we have hope and life.

In addition, write down all the blessings you can recall. Meditate on them and give thanks to Christ Jesus for sustaining you, even in times when no way seemed possible. Moreover, take moments throughout the day to sing praises, listen to worship songs, and offer joyful melodies to the Lord.

Prayer of Thanksgiving (Psalm 23:6)

O God, I thank You today for Your grace, mercy, and peace. I know I do not deserve it—it is all because of Your incredible love for me. I am grateful that You died on the cross, rose again, and sent Your Holy Spirit to dwell in my heart. Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of YHWH forever and ever. Amen.

May our faith bear fruit worthy of repentance.

DAY 3 — Prayer for Spiritual Growth

Moving From Milk to Meat in Faith

On the third day, we seek spiritual growth. Just as children long to grow physically, God desires us to grow spiritually. He calls us to mature from the infant stages of faith (like drinking milk) to a deeper, more solid understanding of His Word (like eating meat) so we can lead others in the Truth.

True spiritual growth involves an increasing awareness of sin and a stronger call to repentance. For example, we should feel convicted for neglecting daily Scripture reading or indulging in immorality. Paul described himself as the “chief” of sinners (1 Timothy 1:15), showing humility and dependence on God’s grace.

Furthermore, spiritual growth produces humility, godliness, love for God, and a greater appreciation for eternal things, while reducing preoccupation with the material world.

Prayer for Maturity in Christ (Colossians 2:6-7)

Father YHWH, help me grow from milk to meat, from infancy to maturity. Please add or remove anything that may hinder my spiritual growth. I have accepted Christ Jesus as Lord and desire to live in union with Him. May I be rooted deeply in Christ, building my life on Him and growing stronger in faith through Your Word daily. Let me be filled with thanksgiving. Amen.

May your faith bear fruit worthy of repentance.
