Don’t be deceived—Satan and his demons are real. They are still active today, trying to pull people away from God’s Kingdom. One of the enemy’s most dangerous tools is pride. In Mark 7:20–23, Jesus Christ (Yahusha) warns that evil comes from the human heart. This includes sexual immorality, lust, greed, deceit, envy, slander, and pride. These sins make a person unclean. They also create distance from God. Pride is a powerful tool that Satan uses. It leads people to rebel. Recognizing this truth is essential for spiritual warfare, Christian deliverance, and maintaining biblical holiness.
Now, what transforms angels into demons? The simple answer is pride. Angels disobeyed the commands of God —Adonai-Elohim due to the invisible, dark spirit of pride.
Revelation 12:7-9 says, “War broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought the dragon.” The dragon and his angels fought back but God defeated them, and He removed them from heaven. God threw the dragon, also known as Satan, down to earth, along with his angels.
The enemy can cause problems and setbacks in our lives. Satan can easily use anyone with pride as his agent or catalyst in spiritual warfare.
During my time in the British Army, I had many experiences that showed this point. When a soldier is disobedient, arrogant, or prideful, it impacts the whole team. This lowers morale and reduces effectiveness on the battlefield. The authorities would punish the person for disobeying commands, and they might discipline the whole team to maintain control.
My first experience with this was during a dormitory inspection in winter 2003. The platoon sergeant threw everyone’s things, like mattresses and bed linens, out of the windows. This happened because someone didn’t meet the standards. We all felt the pain from it.
It seemed unfair after all the hard work we put in. We ironed, polished boots, cleaned, and folded our things. Can you agree that if this continued, there would be chaos without order or a chain of command? There is order in Heaven, brothers and sisters.
Your struggles with pride do not only affect you; they also impact those closest to you, especially your family. Please take a moment to reflect on this.
You will not win your daily battles with pride. Pride builds a wall between you and our Lord Yahusha—Jesus Christ of Nazareth. If you truly think you have a problem with pride, repentance is the key to your change. If not, you might end up talking to yourself while you pray or fast without a real purpose.
The Holy Scriptures tell us in Proverbs 16:18, “Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall.” Many children of God struggle with their problems because they lack direction. This confusion comes from our rebellion, similar to the devil and his angels. God hates pride because it reminds Him of the rebellion in heaven.
Setbacks can come in many forms connected to pride. They can include money problems, health issues, infertility, family conflicts, school troubles, divorce, trauma, or job issues. Jesus Christ is the only Leader, with Power, and Authority. He is our weapon for daily spiritual battles.
Pride is a spiritual force that links you to darkness. Proverbs 11:2 says, “When pride comes, disgrace follows. But with the humble, there is wisdom.”
Our leader, Yahusha, said in Matthew 23:12, “God will bring down those who are proud. He will lift up those who are humble.” Pride will link you to the devil. However, humility will change you into an angel and a soldier of Christ Jesus.
Amen.
