The Power of Our Spiritual Muscles
The penis, vagina, tongue, and heart are spiritual muscles more powerful than any other organ. These parts can bring either honour or disgrace. They can lead to peace or shame, depending on how we use them.
Therefore, misuse leads to trouble, disarray, and despair—turning strong destinies into weak ones. Our generation often ignores the spiritual dangers of masturbation, pornography, premarital sex, adultery, prostitution, and other sexual sins. As a result, many are trapped in disappointment, broken marriages, barrenness, poverty, and failure.
Reuben, for example, lost his firstborn blessing because of casual sex (Genesis 49:3-4). Likewise, nations lose God’s protection when they indulge in sexual immorality (2 Chronicles 7:14).
Invisible Spiritual Consequences
Sexual immorality can create invisible covenants with demons, leading to spiritual husbands or wives. In fact, Scripture tells us of the war in heaven where Michael cast Satan and his angels to earth (Revelation 12:7-17). Furthermore, the Nephilim in Genesis 6 remind us of dark unions before the flood.
These fallen spirits still operate on earth until Judgment Day (Matthew 25:41). Because of this, every demon continues its mission with different tactics. For instance, repeated sexual dreams, wet dreams, or sexual encounters in dreams can indicate a covenant that only God can break through Jesus Christ (Luke 8).
The Power of Words
Our words carry life or death (Proverbs 18:21). Therefore, with the tongue, we can encourage or destroy. We can choose to express love, gratitude, and faith, or we can release hate, doubt, and fear.
Luke 6:45 reminds us that the heart overflows into speech. This means whatever we store in our hearts will eventually come out of our mouths.
The Heart as a Spiritual Weapon
Unforgiveness weighs down the heart like unnecessary armour on a soldier. Consequently, how can we fight spiritual battles with heavy grudges? Jesus commands us to forgive so our prayers are not hindered (Mark 11:25-26).
Our hearts serve as a spiritual connection to God. However, praying with bitterness blocks communication with the Father. In contrast, forgiveness frees us to pray effectively and hear His voice.
Victory Through Christ
The devil uses our spiritual muscles—sexual desires, words, and emotions—as weapons against us. His ultimate goal is to keep us trapped. But Jesus Christ has all authority in heaven and on earth (Matthew 28:18).
Therefore, by avoiding sexual sin, forgiving freely, wearing the full armour of God, reading the Bible daily, and praying without ceasing (Ephesians 6:10-19), we resist the devil. James 4:7 assures us that when we resist him, he will flee.
Breakthrough, deliverance, peace, and salvation will come in Jesus Christ’s name.
Amen.
