What is the story behind the name ‘Invisible War Army’?
From Combat Medic to Spiritual Warrior
Raphael Rabbi served with distinction as a combat medic in the British Army for over a decade, concluding his military career as a Lance Sergeant in the Royal Household Cavalry Regiment. During his second tour in the Afghanistan War in March 2010, he experienced a life-changing vision while asleep. An angel appeared and declared:
“God, who made heaven and earth, wants you to fight for the Kingdom of God. This battle is spiritual and unseen. Your time in the physical Army must now come to an end.”
As a result, this divine message marked a pivotal moment in Raphael Rabbi’s life, redirecting his purpose from earthly battlefields to spiritual warfare.
A Divine Encounter Amidst Trials
Six years later, in April 2016, Raphael Rabbi entered a profound 7-day trance under the influence of the Holy Spirit. By the fifth day, his behaviour became noticeably different, causing concern among family and friends, who understandably attributed it to PTSD from his two military operational tours in Afghanistan.
Due to these concerns, Raphael Rabbi was admitted to Farnham Road Hospital, UK for observation. During this time, however, God revealed to him the full scope of his mission on earth — including a powerful vision of his eventual ascension to heaven once his divine calling is fulfilled.
Less than 72 hours later, Raphael Rabbi was discharged with a diagnosis of Malaria Prophylaxis poisoning following his trip to Lagos, Nigeria (SCOAN), which had caused unusual behavior. What seemed medical was, unknowingly, a divine encounter. He returned with a renewed sense of purpose and clarity that led to the birth of the ministry now known as ‘Invisible War Army’.
The Humble Beginnings
This ministry began with a simple but powerful act of love — sharing Christian encouragement messages via WhatsApp with friends and family. What started as a few Spirit-led words of hope and prayer quickly grew into a movement reaching hearts across nations.
Guided by the Holy Spirit and rooted in Scripture, Invisible War Army has become an international Christian intercessory ministry; consequently, it is dedicated to spiritual warfare, prayer, and transformation — one soul at a time.
The Name Revealed by Christ Jesus
The journey of ‘Invisible War Army’ began under the name ‘My Invisible War’ — a reflection of the personal spiritual battles experienced by Raphael Rabbi.
But in April 2019, after three years of faithful service and seeking the Lord, a profound encounter forever changed the direction of this ministry. While on a 7-day fast, Raphael Rabbi received a divine visitation in a dream around 3am: a cloud of smoke entered the room, and he heard the audible voice of the FATHER, YHWH urging him to “get up quickly, check online, and change the name on the website.”
Obediently, he rose and searched — and to his astonishment, the domain name invisiblewar.army was available. At that moment, it was being offered for just 1$ — a sign of divine alignment.
Thus, the name ‘Invisible War Army‘ — revealed by Christ Jesus Himself — was born. It marked a shift from personal battles to a global spiritual army, united in prayer, intercession, and prophetic warfare across the nations.

Ancestral heritage
According to oral history passed down through generations in his family, Raphael traces his ancestry to the Bantu-speaking peoples of Central Africa, who are said to have migrated through Igbo Land then Yoruba Land (present-day Nigeria), Notsie (present-day Togo), and eventually settled in Alavanyo in Ghana’s Volta Region.
This migratory history aligns with the widely recognized oral traditions of the Ewe people, celebrated in the annual Hogbetsotso Festival — a cultural event marking the escape from the oppressive rule of King Agorkoli in Notsie.
As part of this heritage, Raphael was named “Rabbi” at birth by his grandfather — a name carrying spiritual and ancestral significance. Within the family, this name is understood not as a title, but as a prophetic reflection of their historic connection to ancient Israelite identity passed down through generations.
This ancestral narrative reflects a broader historical and cultural context shared among many Bantu-descended communities in Africa. Scholars and researchers have noted similar heritage connections among groups such as the Lemba people — a Bantu Yemeni ethnic group in Southern Africa with oral traditions of ancient Israelite ancestry. Genetic studies have found that some Lemba males carry the Cohen Modal Haplotype (CMH), a Y-DNA marker commonly associated with Jewish priestly lineages.
While Raphael makes no direct genealogical claim to the Lemba people, the enduring legacy of these ancestral traditions continues to shape his understanding of faith, identity, and divine calling.
Personal life
Raphael is married to Eliora Guimaraes. He has two adult sons from before their marriage and a daughter together with Eliora. They reside in the United Kingdom, where they lead Invisible War Army, serve in healthcare, and continue international ministry efforts.
Does the Invisible War Army have a church in the UK or branches abroad?
At this time, we are a Virtual Apostolic Ministry. Our main focus is on Interactive Prayer and sharing the true gospel. We use different social media platforms for this. There will also be events occasionally, as the Holy Spirit guides us.
How did Raphael Rabbi get to meet Prophet TB Joshua?
Where legacy meets calling :
Raphael Rabbi had long been sceptical of the clergy, especially in Africa and large churches. For nearly nine years, Raphael Rabbi’s father urged him to visit The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations (SCOAN) in Nigeria to support the spiritual growth of his younger siblings.
Prophet TB Joshua once asked about Raphael Rabbi during a visit from his father to SCOAN. During this visit, TB Joshua gave the father two Bible verses for Raphael Rabbi. These were the same verses highlighted in Raphael Rabbi’s personal Bible. He was serving as a combat medic in Afghanistan in the summer of 2007, during that time. This spiritual connection surprised him. As a man of faith, it made him want to learn more about Prophet TB Joshua.
In March 2016, Raphael Rabbi visited SCOAN for a church service broadcast on Emmanuel TV. During the visit, Prophet TB Joshua met him personally and said, “I want to be your friend.” The rest is a mystery. As of now, there is no publicly available information indicating a personal or professional connection between Raphael Rabbi and Prophet T.B. Joshua.
The Last Days of Prophet TB Joshua: Divine Revelation and Farewell Visit
Raphael Rabbi was praying at his mountain in Surrey, England, in June 2019. During this time, God revealed to him that his friend, prophet TB Joshua, would come to Him in glory in ‘2 hours’. God had made up His mind. On that day, Raphael Rabbi called Prophet TB Joshua. A disciple, now known as Prophet Paul David, answered the phone. Prophet TB Joshua was attending to people at the time. However, God later revealed to Raphael Rabbi that HE meant ‘2 years time’.
Raphael Rabbi and his wife Eliora Guimaraes, guided by the Holy Spirit, planned to meet prophet TB Joshua. They visited SCOAN in Nigeria in February 2020. They also invited him to their wedding in the United Kingdom in June of that year. Raphael Rabbi gave all his British Army medals to prophet TB Joshua. This includes a medal from the late Queen Elizabeth II -Queen of United Kingdom. Every good soldier gets a medal after warfare. “The inscription on Raphael’s T-shirt, ‘It is well,’ says it all. Those with eyes will see.”
Prophet TB Joshua fought well for the Kingdom of God. These British Army medals are still in the Archives at SCOAN, Nigeria, today.
This photograph was not planned — it was prophetic.
Afterwards, Prophet TB Joshua personally called Evangelist Joseph David to take this picture twice: once with his own phone, and again using the mobile phone of Raphael Rabbi. What you see here today is the second image — taken not by request, but by revelation.
Raphael Rabbi did not ask for this photograph. It was a divine moment — a spiritual confirmation. At that very instant, Prophet TB Joshua knew what God had already revealed to His servant, Raphael Rabbi. Prophet T. B. Joshua was deeply troubled in spirit, and for a moment, sorrow cast its shadow over his heart.
This was more than a picture. A silent but powerful testimony.
Can a Christian receive prayer for healing and, also, seek medical treatment?
In the words of Prophet TB Joshua: “Doctors treat; God heals. For operations to be successful, God makes it so. He opens the way for a successful operation or treatment. He opens the doctor’s eyes to give you appropriate and rightful treatment.
If you cannot trust in God with your medicine, you cannot trust Him without your medicine. Because God Himself is God of nature.
If a farmer can trust nature without a definite promise, we Christians should trust the God of nature.”
Remember the purpose of any miracle you receive from God. When we are healed, we are healed for a relationship with Jesus forever. The main issue is our relationship with God!
