Pharaoh’s Negotiations and Spiritual Warfare
Then Pharaoh called Moses and said, “Go! Worship the LORD! Only your flocks and herds need to stay behind. Even your children can go with you” (Exodus 10:24 CEB).
Pharaoh negotiated with Moses through the nine devastating plagues. However, even after warnings of death for Egypt’s firstborn, he refused to obey.
Why? Some may argue God hardened his heart, while others point to Pharaoh’s pride and disobedience. In addition, Pharaoh, like many Egyptians, served false gods and did not truly understand the God of Israel.
Similarly, Satan once knew God yet rejected His will. Consequently, he continues negotiating with believers today. His ultimate goal is to lead as many as possible to eternal destruction (Matthew 25:41).
The Enemy’s Mission
Brothers and sisters, we are engaged in a spiritual battle with an unseen enemy. Satan’s mission remains the same: to keep us from worshiping God as He desires.
In fact, there are specific demons that promote spiritual slumber. For instance, we can stay awake late for social media, immoral entertainment, or parties. Yet, when we attempt to read the Bible, we quickly feel tired. Clearly, this is not natural; these are dark forces resisting your worship and prayer.
Moreover, God created all angels with great power. When they fell through pride, they became demons. As a result, their main goal is to block believers from receiving deliverance, healing, and breakthroughs.
Moses Refused to Compromise
Pharaoh persisted in his negotiations, but Moses firmly replied, “Our livestock must go with us; not one animal can be left behind” (Exodus 10:25–26 CEB).
Just as Moses refused to compromise with Pharaoh, we too must refuse to negotiate with Satan.
Perhaps you once prayed for the sick, cast out demons, and received revelations from God. However, now you may feel spiritually blind. Why has this happened?
Sometimes distractions, hurtful words, or worldly friendships slowly draw us away from our walk with God. Furthermore, neglecting Bible reading, skipping prayer meetings, or distancing ourselves from godly friends can weaken our faith.
Breaking Negotiations with the Enemy
If we are not communicating with the Spirit of light, then we are risking alignment with darkness. Paul warns, “One who speaks in a tongue speaks not to men but to God” (1 Corinthians 14:2).
Therefore, do not risk your soul by imitating spiritual gifts without understanding. If there is no interpreter for tongues, Scripture directs us to remain silent (1 Corinthians 14:27–28). True tongues, guided by the Holy Spirit, will produce spiritual fruit.
Additionally, unforgiveness, pride, and spiritual compromise give the devil room to negotiate. As Mark 11:26 warns, we must forgive so that our prayers are not hindered.
Retracing Your Steps
As soldiers of Christ Jesus, we do not negotiate with the enemy. Instead, we know that only faith pleases God (Hebrews 11:6).
Therefore, retrace your steps today. Return to repentance, sanctification, and consistent worship. Finally, cancel every agreement with the enemy and reclaim everything the devil has stolen in the name of Christ Jesus—Yahusha.
