Defending The Saints

The Enemy’s Mission

Keep this truth in mind: the enemy comes to kill, steal, and destroy (John 10:10). Every demon shares this mission, though their strategies and tactics differ.
A spirit of fear attacks your faith, while a spirit of rejection attacks your identity (John 15:18).
The enemy operates strategically, with an organized army capable of sending specific evil spirits against believers to derail them from their kingdom purpose (Ephesians 6:12).

The Roaring Lion

1 Peter 5:8 reminds us: “Be alert and of sober mind; your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.”
The enemy seeks those who are weak in their spiritual lives. When we walk by the Spirit, not the flesh (Galatians 5:16-18), we become harder targets for Satan.

Understanding the Attack

A lion chooses its prey carefully. It lies in wait, observes, then strikes when conditions favor it.
In the same way, Satan waits for spiritual weakness. Most lions hunt at night, under the cover of darkness.
Ask yourself: Do I pray before bed?
Jesus said in Matthew 18:18: “Whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven…”
Neglecting prayer makes you vulnerable (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18).

The Power of Prayer and Fasting

In Matthew 17, the disciples could not heal a child until Jesus returned and rebuked the demon. When asked why they failed, He said: “This kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting” (Matthew 17:21).
Some attacks require fasting. Do not wait for crises to fast—make it a lifestyle of preparation.

Guarding Your Heart

Your heart is the prayer room. Unforgiveness builds a wall between you and God.
Jesus taught: “Whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive them…” (Mark 11:25).
Forgiveness keeps your connection with God clear, making your prayers effective.

Stay Alert Through the Word

Your activities reveal your vulnerability. Are you living in repentance? Are you consistently staying in God’s Word?
Prophet T.B. Joshua once said: “The Bible is the only book in the world that, when you read it, reads you back.”
Regular reading will align your heart with God’s will, making you ready to resist attacks.

Empowered by the Holy Spirit

Acts 2:17-18 promises that in the last days God will pour out His Spirit. Servants of God will see visions, dream dreams, and prophesy.
The Holy Spirit equips you to recognize danger before it arrives and to warn others.

Prayer

Oh, Holy Spirit, guide me to understand the schemes of the enemy so that I do not perish. In Jesus Christ’s name, Amen.
